Portugal’s first ever green bond lists on Euronext Dublin

EDP Finance B.V., a subsidiary of Portugal’s leading electricity operator EDP, lists Portugal’s first ever green bond on the Main Securities Market of Euronext Dublin. The €600m green bond was issued under EDP and EDP Finance BV’s €13.5bn medium term note (MTN) programme. The green bond has a maturity date of October 2025.

Ireland’s first ever green sovereign bond raised €3bn

The Portuguese listing follows the listing earlier this month of Ireland’s first ever green sovereign bond from the National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA)  which raised €3bn. The NTMA has indicated that the proceeds will be allocated against eligible green projects, which primarily address climate change mitigation and adaptation, clean water and wastewater treatment, amongst other core environmental policy objectives.

Euronext Dublin attracts green bond issuers from around the world

These recent listings consolidate Euronext Dublin’s position as the exchange of choice for green issuers looking to access EU investors. Its green bond listings include issuers from China - China General Nuclear Power Corporation, China Three Gorges Corporation, Spain - Acciona, Mexico - NAFIN, Germany - Senvion,  Scandinavia - Swedish Export Credit Corporation, Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken & Stockholms läns landsting and multinationals - Enel, Getlink.
