What is an LEI?
An LEI is a global reference code with uniquely identifies each legal entity that engages in a financial transaction.
The ISE is endorsed by the Regulatory Oversight Committee (ROC) and sponsored by the Central Bank of Ireland to be the Local Operating Unit (LOU) in Ireland. This means that the ISE can issue new LEI codes, renew LEI codes or port or transfer an LEI code from other LOU providers around the world.
